Deeper blades are perfect for rocking cuts with a slightly more curved cutting edge than the narrow blades. The broader blade also facilitates scooping up the garlic, herbs etc, with the blade.

The timber on the handle is Pohutukawa with a stainless steel bolster (where the blade meets the handle) .
This is a full tang knife. This means the blade and handle steel is visibly continuous.
I call this handle shape and design a ‘Lux’.
The steel is Nitro V hardened at 62 HRC giving very good edge retention but still allowing a Honing Steel to be used for edge maintenance.
